Well I'm pretty sure seen it in almost corner store you've been in and I'm pretty sure you or someone you know tried this. Either way you should read this post...
Experts say it can be risky to combine alcohol and caffeine, whether you're mixing Red Bull with booze or buying a ready-made two-in-one cocktail like Four Loko or Joose.
A Wake Forest University study published last year found that college students who combine alcohol and caffeine are more likely to suffer alcohol-related injuries than students who drink only alcohol. Caffeine's stimulating effect can make people less aware of the effects of alcohol. That can cause them to take risks that that they otherwise might not take.
In addition, both caffeine and alcohol are diuretics, so mixing them can cause dehydration. A dehydrated body is slow to process alcohol, and that can interfere with coordination, balance and ability to regulate body temperature.
Community organizers and politicians as well as medical experts are speaking out about Four Loko. Rev. William Rocky Brown III, a candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, said that the new drink "is having our young people black out.” Nafis Nichols of Philadelphia's Chester Youth Collaborative called it "legalized liquid cocaine."
Dwayne says: "Now the thing is with Four Loko is that there is nothing different than people going out buy huge cases of Red Bull and Vodka (maybe candy to get a fruity taste...I've seen it done) and blacking out. Now I agree with people that say it's harmful..but so is regular alcohol after a few glasses. The point I'm saying is something like the saying "guns don't kill people, people kill people." What I mean is that if you think that people that's addicts to this sh** are gonna stop if Loko is gone. Think again. They'll go on to find something to substitute it till they find something stronger and so on and on till they O.D. because of it. The main thing is if you can't handle the responsibility of drinking and everything comes with it, THEN DON'T DO IT!...But I hope you hear on me this..."
